Day in the Life of My Favorite Season

There is just something about the fall weather that makes me feel alive. Most people associate spring with new beginnings, but for me it is fall. Fall means a new school year, new clothes, a new routine and a new life. This photo is of the view out my bedroom window. It is what greets me when I wake up in the morning and when I get home from class in the afternoon.
One of my favorite things about fall is the harvest. All of the fruits and vegetables are fresh and crisp. Everything tastes better in the fall. I pack an apple with me every day to class. I am putting the old adage “an apple a day keeps the doctor away” to the test. So far, so good. Fall to me is biting into an apple, eating a bowl of good soup with homemade bread, and sipping hot chocolate.
For me fall also signifies the coming of the holiday season. It kicks off with Halloween and the next thing you know you are celebrating the new year. My apartment has been decorated for Halloween since the end of September (yes, we are those kinds of girls). Our décor includes pumpkins carved by experts aka my roommates and I shown here. (From left to right: Melissa, Amy, me and Clarissa) We spent one night remembering how much work it takes to carve a pumpkin. Why didn’t it seem like that much work when we were kids?
